International masterclasses
The programme committee of Ethics, Research & Public Policy (EO&B) will organize several masterclasses, in order to stimulate and facilitate international exchange within the programme. For this reason, several international masterclasses will be organized in the course of this year. The masterclasses will cover the four main areas of research of EO&B, that is Ethics of animals, nature and food, Ethics of health and care, Ethics of technological research, General, theoretical and methodological issues. The masterclasses are open for PhD-students and postdocs who are working within an EO&B research project. They will be offered the opportunity to present work in progress and to receive feed-back on it.
The organisation of each masterclasses is done by a project leader of one of the EO&B projects.

The organisation of the masterclass is done by prof. dr. Beate Roessler (University of Amsterdam). N.B. Dieter Birnbacher will also give a public lecture on Monday 1st of September titled "Absolute or relative ethical limits of making animals suffer in animal experimentation?". - The masterclass by John Harris (University of Manchester) and the public lecture Creating better creatures than ourselves have taken place on 29 and 30 May 2008 in Tilburg.
